We have various ways that your junior can get involved in golf…

Roll Up Play, Fun Days & Competitions:

We have a team of volunteers (who have been trained & screened for working with young & vulnerable people) who run monthly roll up junior play/competitions along with regular fun days.

These are open to all juniors aged 5 to 17, at any level.

Our volunteers who run the sessions are not coaches, but they will happily guide juniors with the odd tip here and there, these sessions are more about juniors playing golf with other juniors, on a ‘real’ course, and those who are further along their golf journey can have the opportunity to compete for medals and trophies. Parents are welcome to walk round with the juniors or grab a drink in the clubhouse while they wait, or leave the premises entirely (as long as we have medical & consent forms).

The cost is currently £10 per junior (£5 for members) for the monthly roll up sessions, and £25 (£20 for members) for the fun days, the fun days include food. No booking necessary for the monthly roll up sessions, but please email stonelees@stonelees.com to book our fun days as these are very popular.

Please see our 2024 calendar for more details.

Girls Golf

We are currently working alongside The Golf Foundation on a Girls Golf Retention pilot.

We have a team of volunteers who have all given up their time to help encourage girls to firstly, take up golf, and then to continue enjoying the sport outside of coaching.

Meet the team…

Derek Mills & Malcolm Martin

Derek & Malcolm have been members of Stonelees from the beginning. Their passion for golf and making sure everyone has access to the game is apparent from the moment you meet them. Both volunteers, they have decided to build and grow the junior section at Stonelees, which includes making sure girls are a big part of this too.

We will be setting up monthly girls golf roll up sessions this year, for those who have had some coaching and want to start being able to play regularly with their peers in a fun, relaxed way. We also hope to put on some social events for these girls and their non golfing friends.

We want all girls to know that golf is a sport for them too, and at Stonelees we want to provide a safe, undaunting atmosphere where girls can enjoy and excel at the sport.

Take a look at one of our girl’s golfing journeys so far here…meet Bonnie
